Issues

  • Affordable Housing

Over 1,000 new homes are being built in District 2. Most of these new builds are expensive, single-family homes, making homeownership an unattainable privilege for many. Once elected, I will work with our county and state officials to make homeownership more attainable for our working families. This will include streamlining the permitting and inspection process for Additional Dwelling Units (ADUs) and revising local ordinances to support high-density housing projects.

  • Economic Growth

The region has been hit hard in the past few years due to inflation and failed policies on the local level. The city must work to attract good-paying jobs across different sectors and support new small businesses by mainstreaming the process to get a permit and do business in Redlands. Specifically for District 2, we need to focus on revitalizing and developing the North side of Redlands.

  • Enhancing Community Spaces and Infrastructure

Ensuring people feel safe in their neighborhoods and increasing the quality of life of our community members is a top priority. We need to invest in improving and updating our infrastructure; including sidewalks, roads, and parks. Providing transportation alternatives to reduce car traffic is significant—increasing walkability with more frequent crosswalks and exploring protected bikes, will all be priorities.

  • Public Safety and Health

Currently, there is only one Fire Station on the North side. As our District and city continue to grow, we need our essential services to grow along with our community. This means proper staffing and facilities, keeping the needs and safety of our community is a top priority.
