Meet Jennifer
Jennifer Maravillas is the proud daughter of working-class Mexican immigrants, the eldest of three siblings, a devoted mother to a spirited 4-year-old, and a partner to a Behavioral Health Nurse. As an experienced and strategic leader, Jennifer is committed to championing working families and addressing the complex challenges facing Redlands.
Jennifer’s career has been marked by a diverse blend of roles that combine her passion for public communication with a commitment to social justice. As a former Public Information Officer for San Bernardino County’s Department of Behavioral Health, she was a member of the Teamsters 1932 union.
Noticing issues affecting Redlands residents, Jennifer actively participated in city council meetings. Disappointed by the inactions of her Councilmember, she decided to take matters into her own hands, running for office to address the dire needs being overlooked.
As a Councilmember, Jennifer is dedicated to boosting our quality of life, enhancing public infrastructure, advancing affordable housing, stimulating economic development, and improving public safety and health.
The first in her family to graduate high school, she supported herself throughout college and earned two Bachelor’s degrees from California State University, Long Beach (CSULB) in International Studies and Journalism, and a master’s degree in Communication Management from the University of Southern California (USC.)
With an unwavering commitment to her community, Jennifer Maravillas is dedicated to shaping a vibrant, equitable, and inclusive future for Redlands.
